What is Maple Pediatrics? Maple Pediatrics is a direct primary care (DPC) pediatric practice offering relationship-based, unhurried care for pediatrics patients from birth through adolescence. Dr. Tsevdos keeps her patient panel intentionally small so that every family gets the time and attention they deserve. In addition to our membership plans, we offer single visits and custom packages for families who are looking for more flexibility or targeted support.
What is direct primary care (DPC)? Direct primary care is a simple model: families pay a flat monthly membership fee directly to their doctor with no insurance involvement for access and visits. No copays, no claims, no surprise bills. Our membership plans follow this model. We also offer single visits and custom packages outside of membership for families with specific or short-term needs. When membership spots are full, we maintain a waitlist and notify families as openings become available.
Is this the same as concierge medicine? Not quite. Concierge practices typically charge a large retainer fee on top of billing your insurance. Maple Pediatrics charges one transparent fee, does not bill insurance, and is often more affordable than local concierge alternatives.
We already have a pediatrician. Why would we switch? The problem usually is not your doctor. It’s the model they are stuck practicing in. Insurance-based practices have to move fast to survive, which means short visits, long waits, different doctors depending on availability, no opportunity to build a relationship with your doctor, and no real access between appointments. At Maple Pediatrics, you contact Dr. Tsevdos directly, get same- or next-day sick visits that are unrushed, and you see the same doctor every time.
Where do you see patients? Telehealth is always available to patients located in New York. All in-person visits are conducted in your home. We currently offer home visits throughout Southwest Brooklyn, including Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, South Slope, Sunset Park and more. We are currently working to identify the right office space and plan to have a physical location soon. Once an office is established, in-home visits will continue to be available to members and non-members alike as an add-on service. Not sure if your address is in our service area? Please reach out directly to inquire. If you are outside our current service area, we may still be able to come to you for an additional travel fee.

What types of membership plans and services do you offer? See our Services page.Do you recommend insurance? Yes. A Maple membership works best as a complement to insurance, not a replacement for it. While Maple Pediatrics does not bill insurance, coverage is essential for hospitalizations, emergency care, specialist visits, and imaging. Vaccines, lab tests, imaging studies, and medications are also billed separately from your membership and are typically covered by insurance. HDHPs tend to pair best with a DPC membership, since the lower premiums can help offset membership costs. PPOs also work well for the added flexibility. HMOs are generally a poor fit since they restrict out-of-network care.
What happens if my insurance changes?
Nothing, as far as your care with us is concerned. Because Maple Pediatrics is not tied to any insurance network, your child keeps the same doctor no matter what happens with your job, your plan, or your employer's open enrollment. That consistency is often what gets lost when families are stuck finding a new in-network pediatrician every time coverage changes. Can I use my HSA to pay? We recommend confirming with your HSA administrator, as eligibility can vary.

What is your vaccine policy? Maple Pediatrics follows the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). We understand that some families have questions or concerns about vaccines, and we welcome those conversations. We are happy to take the time to make sure families feel informed and comfortable. Families who have chosen not to vaccinate and are not willing to engage in discussion about vaccines at each visit are not a good fit for memberships with Maple Pediatrics. We believe vaccines are a cornerstone of pediatric preventive care and an essential part of how we practice.
What is your vitamin K and newborn screening policy? We follow AAP recommendations that all newborns receive a vitamin K injection at birth and complete the state-mandated newborn screening panel. Families who have declined these essential newborn safeguards are unable to enroll.
How do I reach Dr. Tsevdos after hours? As a member, you have direct access to Dr. Tsevdos via direct messaging and phone 24/7.
What if my child needs care outside of what Maple can provide? Maple Pediatrics is a primary care practice, not a replacement for specialty or emergency care. When a specialist, urgent care, or emergency room is needed, Dr. Tsevdos will help coordinate and can share your child's history with treating providers. Please keep in mind that clinical visits are only available when your child is in New York.

How do I join and when do you open? We are targeting a Fall 2026 launch and are currently building our founding member list. All new families begin with a complimentary Meet and Greet video call with Dr. Tsevdos to make sure the relationship is a good fit for both parties. Please note that no medical advice is given during this call. Enrollment and a services agreement are required before any clinical services begin. Join the email list on our website to be notified when enrollment opens.
Is there flexibility with membership commitment? Yes. Memberships can be cancelled with 30 days’ written notice and no penalty fee. If you rejoin after cancelling, a re-enrollment fee will apply. For families with short-term needs like those visiting from overseas, those seeking temporary newborn support, or other unique situations, please reach out directly and we will do our best to accommodate.
I still have questions. How do I reach you? We would love to hear from you. The best contact at this time is drtsevdos@maplepediatricsny.com.
